Marco Bonomo is a London-based SEO Specialist and SEO Speaker. He is involved in SEO strategy planning and technical SEO for leading e-commerce and governmental websites, focusing on the UK. Marco is also an avid reader and a digital marketing advocate, contributing to Search Engine Land and Search Engine Watch.

Marco will be joining us at #DMWF Global in London on 28 – 29 May, hosting the session ‘How Google for Jobs Changed Recruitment Forever‘ within the Digital Transformation & Innovation track.

Ahead of #DMWF Global we caught up with Marco, to find out his thoughts on the digital marketing landscape, what he thinks us marketers should be looking out for in the future and what he’s most looking forward to seeing at #DMWG Global 2020!

My Let’s kick off with a bit about your background in digital marketing and what you’re up to at the moment?

I’m a true SEO nerd with 5 years’ experience working for London-based agencies. I specialise in SEO strategy and technical SEO for large Ecommerce and online recruitment, focusing on the UK.

Which digital marketing trend that has impacted your campaigns the most in past year?

As I work with recruitment websites, I’m confident to say that Google for Jobs has played a big part in transforming the whole online recruitment industry.

What is the next BIG thing that marketers should be preparing for now?

Machine learning, data analysis and visualisation is definitely one of the biggest trends in SEO. The growing popularity of SQL, Python and data visualisation tools such as Google Data Studio suggest that companies that invest in these kinds of solutions can gain a competitive edge.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given as a marketer?

That the only purpose of marketing is to generate sales. Period.

What, in your opinion, is the most exciting new technology for marketers?

The whole point of technology applied to marketing is to support smarter decisions. In order to achieve that, data visualisation tools like Python and Data Studio can show data from a new perspective, and help marketers to make better and more informed decisions.

What can our community learn from you at your session/panel at DMWF Asia?

My goal is to provide the audience with the necessary tools to fully understand the Google for Jobs search feature. More specifically, I aim to show why this is important for marketers, the technical set up, the monitoring and how to outrank even the fiercest competition.

Who else on our DMWF Asia speaker line up are you looking forward to learning from?

Rumble Romagnoli talking about storytelling for the luxury industry.

Like a prize boxer, you are the undisputed heavyweight in your field. If you had a walk-in song, what would it be?

Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon

Thank you Marco! We look forward to seeing you for #DMWF on 28-29 May in London.
